Program Information

The Financial Planning Board of Governors Certificate allows graduates upon successful completion of the program to write the Financial Planning Examination Level One (PE1) that is administered by the Financial Planners Standards Council for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) internationally recognized professional designation. Students are required to ensure they successfully complete the program by confirming the qualifying grade required to write the PE1 by visiting fpsc.ca. FPSC Accreditation also requires three years of practical experience, a capstone course (taken after the PE1 exam) and a Financial Planning Examination Level Two (PE2) exam (taken one year after the PE1 exam) to qualify for the CFP designation. Accreditation exams are scheduled twice a year.

Credentials College-Approved Certificate

Residency Students must complete a minimum number of credits in this program with their registering college to meet the Program Residency requirement to graduate from the program.

Completion All courses must be completed within 7 years of acceptance into the program.
